Hedvig's Way
Zermatt and Engelberg, Switzerland
2020 - 21
Hedvig is a professional big mountain freeride skier and 2x Olympic mogul skier from Oslo, Norway. After several years of mogul World Cups and Wold Championships, she decided to transition to freeride and compete on the Freeride World Tour, where she graced the podium every time!
She is the star of multiple ski films, such as Matchsticks Production and Warren Miller, including producing and directing her own short YouTube series named "Hedvig's Way". We had the pleasure to shoot two of her episodes in Zermatt and Engelberg, Switzerland.
For her YouTube series, we had the tasks to film her adventures, trainings and conduct interviews to complete the episodes.

Episode 12 - Elements of Freeriding
The purpose of the main film was to recap the adventure from climbing, to skiing powder and everything in between that happens during a backcountry trip.

Episode 13 - Skiglede
A film showing the start of the season for Hedvig.
This was another really challenging but fun project. Hedvig's dedication to the sport is truly inspiring to witness and we feel privileged to capture it.
The episode in Engelberg was very demanding physically. We had to climb more than 1000m of vertical ascent carrying heavy camera bags. We also faced the worst storm we had ever encountered in the mountains. But thanks to a team effort and our mountain guides who kept us safe, everything went well and we think it shows in the film.
The episode in Zermatt was a lot of fun too. It was interesting to see how different athletes start their ski season differently. They all have one thing in common: the fun they have when they put the skis back on for the first time after a summer break. Hedvig really has that pure childlike joy when she skis.
We look forward to many more projects like this one.
